On Monday, September 6th 2021, Katharina Zanier received the Stele Award 2020 for the excellent execution of the international and interdisciplinary project aimed at cultural heritage restoration and revitalization Claustra+.

The project manager Katharina Zanier and the exceptional international team of Slovenian and Croatian partners carried out an exemplary and diverse project, which ended on 31 January 2020 and was funded under the Interreg V-A Slovenia-Croatia Program. The project covered an extremely rich set of activities in the field of research, presentation, interpretation and tourist valorisation of the archaeological remains of the late Roman defence system Claustra Alpium Iuliarum. According to the commission for the Stele Awards, which are awarded in the field of conservation and restoration by the Slovenian Conservation Society, “the project was carried out and completed at a top level due to exceptional leadership, interdisciplinarity and competence.”
