Join us on a pleasant walking event “Claustra with the taste of salt” on Sunday 20th October 2019. The event is organized in the framework of the project CLAUSTRA+. Within the project CLAUSTRA + (Cross-border Destination of Cultural and Green Tourism Claustra Alpium Iuliarum) we continue to organize hiking and cycling trips aimed at popularizing the Claustra cultural and tourist route. Claustra Alpium Iuliarum is a late-roman barrier system that protected the center of the Roman Empire. On Sunday, 20th October 2019, we will take you from the sea to the Roman fortlet on the Solin Hill, which dominates above Martinšćica and the Draga Valley. Fortlet Solin, which offers the most beautiful view of the Bay of Rijeka, was in the function of monitoring the road connecting Tarsatica with Senj.
EQUIPMENT: Solid hiking boots.
Venue: Martinšćica (Viktor Lenac Shipyard Parking)
– 10:00 gathering and registration of participants,
– 11:00 hiking trip with a tour of the archeological site Solin (2.5 – 3 hours walk),
– 14:30 end of walking tour and lunch for participants.
TRANSPORTATION: transport to the venue point is not organized.
NOTE: The excursion is free for registered participants and includes a guided hiking tour with licensed hiking guides, a gift souvenir, refreshments and lunch.
